Winter storm warning continues for Coquihalla Highway

Nov 15, 2020 | 5:31 AM

UPDATE Nov. 15

A winter storm warning remains in effect for the Coquihalla Highway from Merritt to Hope.

Environment Canada said Sunday morning significant amounts of snow are expected.

A strong frontal system moving in from the Pacific will bring snow to parts of interior British Columbia today.

Snow heavy at times over the Coquihalla Highway – Hope to Merritt will continue today, with accumulation of 30 to 40 cm forecast through this evening. Snow will taper off to a few flurries tonight.

Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
