Vipers-Vees advance to Okanagan Cup Final

The Okanagan Cup will be on the line Saturday night (Nov. 14) between the Vernon Vipers and Penticton Vees.

The Vipers advanced to the BCHL exhibition series final with a 2-0 win over the West Kelowna Warriors in the semi final at Royal Lepage Place Friday.

The game saw about 20 players given misconducts in the final few seconds of the third period after a blow to the head penalty to Zach Brooks of the Warriors.

JoJo Tanaka Campbell and Cam MacDonald scored for Vernon while first star Koen MacInnes made 31 saves for the shutout.

The Vees defeated the Salmon Arm Silverbacks 5-2 in the other semi final.

The championship game will be Saturday at 6 p.m.at the South Okanagan Events Centre.
