Local hot rod wins big at U.S. show

Members of Vernon Sun Valley Cruisers are still basking in the glow of some major hardware at one of the biggest and longest running car shows in the world.

The Grand National Roadster Show, once known as the Oakland Roadster Show, held its 72nd show in January.

This week, the club released details of the win on its Facebook page.

Sun Valley Cruisers Mitch and Bonnie Mitchell took home five awards this year at the 2020 Grand National Roadster show in Pomona, California. Mitch’s 1940 Ford Coupe received awards for:

1. Best in class: Radical Rod Custom
2. Outstanding Coupe
3. Outstanding Undercarriage
4. Outstanding Paint
5. Outstanding Display

Over 500 show vehicles competed for awards.

The show has been moved to May this year as a result of COVID-19 conditions.
