Former Viper returns

Vernon Vipers add WHL veterans

Oct 30, 2020 | 1:46 PM

The Vernon Vipers have signed a pair of 20-year old Western Hockey League players.

Josh Prokop and Tyler Carpendale will be joining the BCHL team this week.

“These are two veteran guys who can play in any situation and bring a wealth of experience to our group,” said Head Coach and GM of the Vipers Jason McKee.

Prokop, an Edmonton native, rejoins the Vipers following an impressive rookie season that saw him score 21 goals. He most recently played with the Calgary Hitmen of the WHL.

Carpendale, from Powell River B.C., spent three seasons in the WHL (with Kamloops and Seattle), and is coming off an injury filled season and looking to make an impact.

The WHL is allowing teams to “loan” players to teams in Junior A and B as the WHL doesn’t plan to start its training camps until December, and its regular season until January 8, 2021.
