13 new affordable housing units planned

Vernon City council has taken the first step toward adding more affordable housing units to the inventory with the proposed rezoning of three lots along Okanagan Landing Road.

6309, 6321 and 6335 Okanagan Landing Road would be rezoned from rural residential and airport industrial to low density residential.

The proposal calls for 13 stacked row house units, with 4 one bedroom, 8 two bedroom and one 3 bedroom unit..

The proposal must still go to public hearing.
