Four teams will play 27 games over eight weeks — with no fans — for the Okanagan Cup.

The Vernon Vipers and BCHL have announced the creation of the Okanagan Cup, a two-month tournament that will feature the Okanagan’s four teams. It will begin on September 25 with the championship game on November 14.

The tournament will consist of a total of 27 games featuring the Vernon Vipers, Salmon Arm Silverbacks, Penticton Vees and West Kelowna Warriors with two sets of home-and-home action as each team will face-off against one another four times. The games will take place on Fridays and Saturdays with each team playing a total of 12 games.

The schedule begins on Friday, September 25 with the Vipers taking on the West Kelowna Warriors and the Penticton Vees taking on the Salmon Arm Silverbacks. The final weekend of play will start on Saturday, November 7 followed by a weekend of semi-final and final action, beginning Friday, November 13 and concluding with the championship game on Saturday, November 14.

“This a great opportunity for our fans to get their hockey fix,” said Vipers Executive Vice President Todd Miller. “A huge thank you to our broadcast partners 107.5 Beach Radio, HockeyTV and Shaw who will be bringing our fans these games.”

Each of the teams 12 games will be streamed live on HockeyTV.com. In addition, all four organizations are excited to showcase their players on Shaw. Shaw has been a big supporter of the BCHL and all local markets. With select games airing on the Shaw channels across the Okanagan, this is a great opportunity for fans to watch BCHL hockey on TV.
