Grads get go ahead to paint Suicide Hill

It’ll be grads, not cars on Suicide Hill in Vernon.
City council has given the go-ahead for this year’s Vernon Secondary School graduates to recreate the tradition of painting the road.
Council has approved the issuance of a road use permit to School 22 that will allow grads to take over the 2400 block and do some art work after the COVID-19 pandemic cancelled many of the normal graduation ceremonies and celebrations.
“It’s been a complicated year,” said Mayor Victor Cumming. “This is a small thing that we can do.”
