New defenceman for Vipers

The Vernon Vipers have a new defenceman.

The team announced Monday that it had acquired Desmond Johnson who played last season with the Chicago Mission U-18 team.

The Windsor, Ontario native had four goals and seven assists in 14 games played.

“Desmond is a right shot defenceman that skates extremely well and plays with great anticipation,” said Vipers head coach and general manager Jason McKee.

Johnson also had a solid Macs Tournament this past season with four assists in four games.
