Missing woman found dead

RCMP and the coroner are now investigating after the body of a missing 51-year-old woman was found Wednesday.

She had been camping at the McCullough Lake recreation site east of Kelowna and search crews from the central Okanagan, Vernon, and Penticton were called in.

“With assistance from Coldstream Helicopters, the body of the missing woman was located around 9:30 a.m.,” a news release from Central Okanagan Search and Rescue said.

Family members had reported her missing Tuesday evening.
