Cops called to vehicle smashing incident at W.L Seaton Secondary

Sep 26, 2019 | 1:44 PM

A person attempting to smash vehicle windows with what looked like a baton prompted the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP to respond to W.L Seaton Secondary Wednesday afternoon.

According to police, officers were called to the school just before 3 p.m. after receiving the report.

The male suspect fled the scene before police arrived, and school staff present at the school were unable to identify the suspect allegedly caught in the act.

Police later learned in their investigation that the male may have been a student at the school.

So far there have been no arrests or charges.

“The file remains under investigation at this time and school officials are involved. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident,” Const. Kelly Brett of the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP said.

Vernon Matters has reached out to School District 22 for comment.
