Update: Unusual crash draws attention; ticket issued

Motorists in Vernon were slowing down to take a closer look at a crash in the downtown this morning.

Police say a car was attempting to make a left-hand turn around 11:15 a.m., and hit a median in the 3300 block of 32nd Avenue, and also took-down a city sign and post.

“The driver, an 83-year-old Vernon woman, was issued a violation ticket for making an illegal left hand turn,” Const. Kelly Brett told Vernon Matters.

The woman was not injured, but her car sustained front end damage and was leaking fluid.
