Rail Trail open house draws a crowd

Sep 19, 2019 | 5:30 AM

A session to gather input on the northern part of the Okanagan Rail Trail drew more people than expected.

The Regional District of North Okanagan is getting feedback on proposed concepts for the KM 0 North extension and designs for a washroom on Westkal Road, with an open house held Tuesday at the Coldstream Women’s Institute Hall.

“We had more residents attend than expected,” said Keith Pinkoski, Manager of Parks, RDNO. “You can tell that people are passionate about the future of the Okanagan Rail Trail and their insight and feedback is certainly going to be valuable going into creating the final concepts.”

Those who didn’t attend can take on online survey on the RDNO website.

A second event to gather feedback will be held later this fall as a part of the second annual Community Services Open House.

“Residents are invited to join us for an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback on various services and projects within the Regional District. Details on the time and location of this event will be shared once confirmed,” Pinkoski added.
