City-union talks resume
Neither side is saying much, but the City of Vernon and its unionized workers are talking again.
The City and Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) local 626, which represents about 240 city workers, first started negotiations on a new contract back in January.
The city’s Chief Administrative Officer Will Pearce issued this brief statement to Vernon Matters when asked about the talks:
““After a short break negotiations have resumed,” said Pearce in an email.
