Police seize illicit drugs from Vernon man
A North Okanagan man has been charged after police in Kelowna seized trafficking quantities worth of suspected illicit drugs during an arrest Wednesday afternoon.
“On August 21, 2019 just before 2:30 p.m., drug section members of the Kelowna RCMP Street Enforcement Unit carried out the arrest of a suspect in the parking lot of a business located in the 2100 block of Springfield Road. During the course of their investigation officers seized undisclosed quantities of suspected cocaine, heroin and fentanyl, thousands of dollars in cash and items consistent with drug trafficking,” said a news release from Kelowna RCMP.
“The Kelowna RCMP Street Enforcement Unit remain fully committed to improving all aspects of public safety across the Okanagan, and will continue to take the necessary actions to effectively remove these harmful substances from our streets,” said Jeff Carroll, Drug Section Corporal of the Kelowna RCMP Street Enforcement Unit.
Twenty-nine-year-old Vincent Dean Lyons has now been formally charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
