Biker injured in crash

Aug 19, 2019 | 10:40 AM

A motorbike operator suffered serious injuries in a crash on Westside Road near Vernon.

Police say the 38-year-old Lake Country man driving the bike collided with an SUV which was making a left hand turn and then hit a pickup truck near Mary’s Emerald Bay Road around 3 p.m. Sunday.

“As a result of the initial impact, it appears the operator of the motorcycle was thrown from the motorcycle prior to the motorcycle colliding with the third vehicle,” Cpl Tania Finn, Media Relations Officer with the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP said. “Due to the seriousness of the motorcyclist injuries, B.C. Air Ambulance attended to the scene to transport the man to hospital.”

The four occupants of the SUV and the lone person in the pick-up truck were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
