Boaters help out after jet-ski collision
An Edmonton man is facing potential impaired charges after a collision with another jet skier on Wood Lake near Oyama on Thursday.
Police officers responded to the scene after the crash about 40 feet from shore near the Oyama end.
RCMP said two men in a boat provided much needed assistance to the two jet-skiers and they would like to talk to them.
“Investigators at the scene subsequently entered into an impaired operation of a vessel investigation after one of the Sea-Doo operators displayed signs and symptoms of alcohol intoxication,” RCMP spokesperson Jesse O’Donghey said in a press release. “A demand was provided to the 37-year-old Edmonton, Alberta man who was transported to the Kelowna detachment where he provided samples of his breath.
