Shred It

Don’t sweat It…..shred it!

May 24, 2019 | 1:01 PM

An event this weekend in Vernon will help you properly dispose of personal documents — and support a good cause at the same time.

The North Okanagan Shuswap Crime Stoppers Society is hosting its annual Shred-A-Thon Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Wholesale Club parking lot on 34th Street.

You can bring your personal papers, CD’s and other items to be shredded on site by Interior Mobile Shredding for a minimum donation of $5 a box.

“Watch your documents get destroyed in seconds and feel good that it will be recycled,” says a Crime Stoppers news release.

“Please remove bindings, such as plastic coils and 3-ring binders, etc. when possible. Electronics will also be accepted on site for recycling only (this does not entail destroying data on devices recycled).”

Crime Stoppers is a non-profit community based crime solving program working in conjunction with the police, media and the public to help make the community a safer place in which to live.
