Two ministers coming to town

Two B.C. ministers will be making a stop in Vernon the next few days.

Selina Robinson, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing will be at My Place, on 27 Avenue where she is expected to make an affordable housing announcement on Thursday.

My Place is a 52-unit affordable housing project that is expected to open in the summer.

According to Turning Points Collaborative, the apartment complex will contain bachelor suites for both males and females in need of affordable housing.

Residents will be selected by referral only and `must understand the importance of being good tenants and neighbors`.

The housing project will have individual counseling available and access to the Work BC Employment Program.

Robinson will be joined by Mayor Victor Cumming , Kelly Fehr, Co-Executive Director of Turning Points Collaborative, and Kevin Robertson, the Board Chair for Turning Points Collaborative.

On Friday, May 24, Education Minister Rob Fleming will arrive at BX Elementary where it is speculated that he will announce funding for the BX Elementary School expansion project.
