Team BC Ladies Hockey: Earn Bronze at Canada Winter Games

At the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer, in Women’s Hockey…Team BC, represented locally by Coldstream’s Anne Cherkowski, Kiara Stecko of Kelowna, Chanreet Bassi of Lake Country, and Sarah Paul of West Kelowna finished with the Bronze.
Going into the tournament as underdogs…Team Alberta went undefeated all tournament capping it all off defeating Team Quebec 2-1 for the Gold.
Team Alberta won the Centennial Cup, which goes to the province or territory which shows the greatest improvement from one Games to the next.
Alberta also got the Jack Pelech Award, which goes to the team that best demonstrates competitiveness, sportsmanship and a spirit of fair play, co-operation and friendship.
