Vipers Shutout Wild in Wenatchee
Early scoring turned into a 3-0 shutout for the Vernon Vipers, Friday night in Wenatchee.
Teddy Wooding picked up a second star for the game, and open the scoring for Vernon at 6:41 of the first, with assistance from Michael Young, and Tyler Ho. Michael Young would add another goal at 9:54 of the first, with a helper from Ben Helgeson. There was no scoring through the second and much of the third periods At 18:54 of the third, Matt Kowalski would score with an assist from Josh Latta brining the Vipers to the 3-0 victory.
Vipers goaltender Bradley Cooper, who came to Vernon from the Prince George Spruce Kings earlier this season, made 24 saves on the evening to earn his first shutout as a Viper.
Vipers Head coach, Mark Ferner was pleased with the team’s performance: “No lead is safe against Wenatchee … I thought our kids did a real good job stopping some of their momentum … very proud of the effort, we’ll get a meal, get a rest, and we’ve got one more.“ (Full post game interview below)
