Resort Opens More Lifts and Runs

Nov 30, 2018 | 10:50 AM

Lots of new snow has allowed Silver Star Mountain Resort to expand its alpine operations.

About 9 centimetres of snow has fallen in the last 24 hours, bringing the base to 108 cm’s.

“The increase in snowfall has meant the Comet Express Chairlift, Alpine Meadows Chairlift & the Discovery Carpet will all be open tomorrow, December 1st,” says Ian Jenkins, director of marketing and sales.

Jenkins says the additional chairlifts will give skiers and snowboarders about 30 more runs, with a total of over 50 runs on the ski hill.

The resort will also open Tube Town today at 2 pm with access to four lanes.

“SilverStar will celebrate its annual Light Up this evening with starting at 5 pm with Christmas Markets followed by the Trail of Lights snowshoe tour, fire performance, fireworks, pyro show and a special appearance and photo opportunity with Santa Claus,” says Jenkins.
