Vipers Shut Out on First Responders Nigh

Vipers Shut Out on First Responders Night

Nov 24, 2018 | 8:34 AM

The Vernon Vipers continue to struggle against the Salmon Arm Silverbacks this season with a 2-0 shutout loss at Kal Tire Place, Friday night. While the Vipers have managed to earn points against the Silverbacks this season, in overtime and shootout losses,  they have yet to tally a win against the rival club.

According to Vipers Head Coach, Mark Ferner, it is not a lack of scoring chances, but the struggle to create second and third scoring opportunities, that is holding back the team’s offence. The full post game interview can be heard here:

Friday night was also First Responders Night. With a crowd 2600 strong, the game was opened with a ceremony honouring first responders in our community, as well as first responders who tended to the tragedy that befell the Humboldt Broncos in April.

Vipers are at home Saturday night to the Trail Smoke Eaters, 6pm at Kal Tire Place
