The Vernon Vipers have acquired forward Ben Sanderson from the Okotoks Oilers of the Alberta Junior League.

Tylor Ludwar and future considerations go to the Oilers.

Sanderson, a Calgary product, is the son of former NHL’er Geoff Sanderson.

He had 20 goals in 50 games with the Oilers last season.

“We feel this is a good hockey trade for both teams,” says Mark Ferner, Head Coach and GM of the Vipers. “We had a needed a forward and they were in search of a defenseman.”

Sanderson comes in committed to Colorado College.

“Tylor was good for us in the pair of games he was here. We just had an influx of defenseman and we wanted to make sure he went to a good program,” adds Ferner.

Sanderson will join his new team this week and is expected to make his Vipers debut this weekend against Powell River.
