Vipers Drop Both Showcase Games in OT

In BCHL action yesterday at the League Showcase in Chilliwack, the Vernon Vipers lost 2-1 in overtime to the Surrey Eagles.

Surrey tied the game up with less than 2 minutes to play then won it about 2 minutes into overtime.  Austin Chorney had Vernon’s only goal, his first as a Viper.

This was the Snakes second overtime loss at the showcase falling 4-3 to Nanaimo earlier.

The Vipers now sit at 2-2-2 through six games.

The snakes host Merritt Friday and the Wenatchee Wild are in town Saturday.

In KIJHL action last night the North Okanagan Knights fell to the Kelowna Chiefs 8-3.

In WHL play, Kamloops handed the Kelowna Rockets their second loss in as many nights 3-1 in Kelowna. On Friday, the Blazers beat the Rockets 4-1 in season-opening action in Kamloops.
