Vipers Drop Home Opener

It was not the way the Vipers wanted to start the season, as the Wenatchee Wild walked away with a 5-3 victory Friday night at Kal-Tire Place. In front 2300 fans, Connor Marritt, who earned third star in the game, opened the scoring for the Vipers in the first two minutes assisted by Elan Bar lev wise and Josh Latta. Josh Prokop scored again for the Vipers late in the first period, but their lead was cut less than a minute later as Jacob Modry opened the scoring for Wenatchee.

The lone goal from the Wild in the second period would be answered by Vipers forward, Alex Swetlikoff, but it would not be enough to take the home opener, as the Wenatchee put up three more in the third period.
