No Diving Off of Rotary Pier

Swimmers are once again being warned to not to dive into Kalamalka Lake off of Rotary Pier at Kal Beach because the depth is too shallow.

The District Coldstream’s Chief Administrative Officer Trevor Seibel refused to comment on reports two people were injured this month while diving off of the pier.

However Seibel said the pier is clearly marked both at the entrance and on the pier, warning people not to dive into the water from the structure.

“The signs that line the pier, as it heads out into the lake, clearly state ‘Danger No Diving Shallow Water’,” Seibel said in an email to Beach Radio News. “There are 10 such signs (five on each side) of the pier as it extends out into the lake.”
