Feb 11, 2018 | 8:00 AM

The Vernon Vipers moved into a tie for first place in the BC Hockey League after a 5-2 win over the Penticton Vees before over 33-hundred fans at the South Okanagan Events Centre.

Jesse Lansdell led Vernon with a goal and 2 assists while captain Jagger Williamson added 3 assists.

Ty Taylor made 31 saves for the goaltending win.

The win gives Vernon and Penticton 75 points, with the Vees getting the edge for first place due to fewer losses.

Penticton also has played 2 fewer games than Vernon who head out on a road trip next week, with a first stop in Powell River Friday.

In the WHL, the Victoria Royals made it two in a row over the Kelowna Rockets with a 4-3 win in overtime at the Save On Foods Memorial Centre Saturday night.

The teams play again Monday afternoon at Prospera Place.

In the KIJHL, The Osoyoos Coyotes defeated the North Okanagan Knights 3-1 Saturday.
