Vipers Honour Duncan Wray
It was without question an emotional evening, that featured a fantastic tribute video, a moving speech and a fantastic effort by the home team, as Josh Prokop scored the game winner and Ty Taylor stopped 28 for the shutout, as the Vipers paid tribute to the passing of Duncan Wray with a 2-0 win. Some of Wray’s family members were in attendance and they addressed the team prior to game time.
Thru almost two and half periods of play, lots of chances but no results. The Vipers peppered Michael Corson with 18 shots in the middle frame, but couldn’t find the back of the net. Jimmy Lambert had the best chances on back to back breakaways while shorthanded, but Corson made both saves in fine form. The Vipers killed off both Capital powerplays, while getting chances of their own while up a man. The Snakes put up 18 shots in the middle period, but the period ended as it began, scoreless.
The Vipers are back in action as they kick off a four game road trip against the West Kelowna Warriors, Tuesday night.
