Police have issued surveillance images from two robberies at Vernon gas stations over the last couple days.

The first was at the Petro Canada on Highway 6 in Lavington around 8 pm on Sunday.

A man demanded cash using what appeared to be a wrench or tool.

The man was given some cash and took off in a vehicle.

“Vernon RCMP members responded to the scene and were provided with a description of the male and vehicle he fled in,” says Cst. Kelly Brett. “Unfortunately the suspect and vehicle were not located, however the employee was smart, complied with the male’s demands and remained unharmed in this incident.”

A night later, on New Year’s Night, the Super Save Gas Station on 25th Avenue was targeted by a man showing what appeared to be the handle of a gun to a staff member.

He fled with some cash in a dark coloured SUV.

“Both incidents are still under investigation at this time,”  says Cst. Brett. “There is good video surveillance from both robberies and the investigators are still trying to determine if the robberies are connected. At this time we are treating both incidents as separate occurrences and have yet to determine if the suspect is the same person.”

The suspect male in the Petro Canada incident is described as:
– Caucasian male
– Between 35 – 45 years old
– Approximately 6 feet tall
– Wearing a black jacket with a hood
– Baggy blue jeans
– Small patch of hair on his chin

The suspect male in the Super Save incident is described as:
– Caucasian male
– Wearing a black neoprene hooded jacket and a half ski mask
– Approximately 35 – 45 years in age
