Death At Ski Resort

A man has died while skiing at Big White Resort near Kelowna.

Witnesses say the man was skiing Wednesday morning when he crossed under a closed area rope and fell off a 25 to 30 foot cliff, landing in deep snow.

“Police believe the 60 year old male from Kelowna was skiing when he suffered a medical emergency on the hill,” says Cst. Lesley Smith.

Despite lifesaving efforts, emergency personnel and ski patrol staff were not able to revive him.
