Driver Didn’t See Pedestrian

An elderly pedestrian was hit by a car this morning in downtown Vernon.

Police say the 80 year old man was in a crosswalk at 30th Avenue and 35th Street around 7 am, but the driver apparently didn’t see him.

“He was wearing all dark clothing and it was around dawn,” says RCMP Cst. Kelly Brett.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Brett says charges are not being considered against the driver.
