GVAC Sticks With Leaders

Dec 7, 2017 | 6:00 PM

Local politicians have decided to keep the current leadership for the Greater Vernon Advisory Committee.

Juliette Cunningham was acclaimed to a fourth term as chair of the parks, water, culture and recreation committee.

The Vernon councillor says the museum and art gallery question will be a significant issue in 2018.

“Consultants are working with the user groups at this time and they’ll be going for some public input as well. We hope to have all of that work done by April,” says Cunningham.

The issue could be a referendum question as part of next October’s civic elections.

Cunningham says the Okanagan Rail Trail will also be a big issue for the committee in 2018.

Coldstream mayor Jim Garlick was acclaimed to another term as vice chair of GVAC.
