Police say alcohol was a factor after reports of an erractic driver causing damage in Coldstream.

RCMP received multiple complaints about a vehicle Tuesday afternoon, including extensive damage done to fields and fences in Creekside Park.

Witnesses say the driver appeared to be disorientated, and stopped multiple times to ask for directions.

A Dodge Charger with front end damage was later stopped by police on Ponderosa Way, and the driver failed two roadside alcohol breath tests.

A 32 year old Kamloops man was issued a 90 day driving prohibition under the Motor Vehicle Act and a 30 day vehicle impoundment.

Police believe the damage to the park was connected to the car, and are looking to talk to any witnesses.

“Creekside Park received significant damages to the fields,” says Brett. “We believe the incidents may be connected at this time and are looking to speak to any witnesses.”

Anyone with information to call police at 250-545-7171.
