Oct 11, 2017 | 5:45 AM

For the 3rd year,  first responders in the North Okanagan are invited to take in a Vernon Vipers Hockey game and accept a community load of thanks for their work.

The  “1st Responders Appreciation Game” is November 3rd at Kal Tire Place when the Vernon Vipers host the Salmon Arm Silverbacks.

Kal Tire is donating tickets and Hub Fire Engines will provide drink tickets and Kiss FM and the Vernon Morning Star are media sponsors of the event.

Sutton Group Lakefront Realty will handle 50/50 ticket sales along with the City of Vernon Firefighters.

All members of North Okanagan fire departments-that’s wildfire and urban- Search & Rescue and emergency roadside personnel and their immediate family members are invited.

Organizers are also inviting any wildfire firefighter from anywhere who is going to be in the area to get tickets.

They can contact the Sutton Group.

For local crews, a ticket count will be taken at your base of operations, or if somehow your missed, you can also contact Beth Marks at the Sutton Group at 250 – 549 – 3944.

Organizers want 1st responders to know this is not an obligatory or work related event.

It’s a fun night out with your family with  gratitude from the community for a job well done.
