No indication from the city yet as to what caused a sinkhole in the 3300 block of 42nd Avenue just west of the highway in Vernon on Saturday.
A man driving a pickup truck got a shock when the left front wheel plunged through the road surface.
It’s not your regular pothole, measuring about three feet in diameter and and a couple of feet deep.
Because of the Easter weekend, city works crews were not able to attend to it.
It’s expected that section of road will remain closed until engineers have a chance to investigate if there is something more serious going on.
