The Vernon Vipers showed little rust from the 20 day layoff shutting out Trail 2-0 in game 1 of their playoff series last night.

Jimmy Lambert and Steven Jandric each went 1 and 1 on the night. Lambert earning First Star and Darian Hanson in the Vipers net getting 2nd Star with the shut-out. Game 2 in the series goes tonight at Kal Tire Place and we’ll have BDM Motorsports Vipers play by play on KISS-FM beginning with the pre-game show at 6:45

In the other Interior Division series Penticton took game 1 over Merritt 4-1.

In the WHL the Kelowna Rockets, sporting green for St. Patrick’s Day, got a lot of puck luck dumping the Vancouver Giants 7-0 .

With the win, the Rockets will clinch at least second place in the BC Division, two points back of division leading Prince George.

The Cougars finish the season at home against Kamloops tonight, while the Rockets finish up their regular season on the road against the Giants.
