Local rowers open season with strong performance

Junior rowers from Vernon and the Okanagan had some great results in the first races of the season.
The Vernon Rowing and Dragon Boat Club (VRDBC) took part in the Delta Deas Scholastic Regatta, and the local junior athletes were able to row their way to some hardware.
Anthony Masys took the gold in the Under 15 Men’s Single race, Peter Masys took bronze in the U19 Men’s Single competition, and Peter also partnered with Mariia Kuzmenko to take third place in the Mixed Doubles.
Meanwhile VRDBC’s U19 Women’s Quad of Kuzmenko, Kate Green, Ella Thomas and Zoey Jacobi placed fourth in the Final A competition, with Green and Kuzmenko also finishing third in the U19 Women’s Double Final B.
