The Downtown Vernon Association (DVA) will host it’s Frostival celebration Friday evening, which will result in some traffic disruptions throughout the day.

Starting as early as 8:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 29, a portion of 30th Ave, between 30th and 34th Streets will be closed to vehicle traffic, as will a section of 31st St. from 31st to 29th Avenues, and 33rd St. between 31st and Coldstream Avenues.

Highway 97 will remain open Friday, though barricades will be in place on 30th Ave.

Bus routes will also be temporarily modified during the day to account for the closures.

The Frostival will run from 4 to 8:30 p.m. Friday as the DVA’s Kick Off to Christmas event.

The event will see local businesses stay open later than usual and will also feature Santa’s arrival, musical and dance performances, activities, and vendors selling their wares.
