Environment Canada has issued a fog advisory for the North and Central Okanagan.

The advisory, issued at 9 a.m. Friday, said that “persistent fog with visibility near zero is expected or occurring.”

The conditions are expected to lift late Friday morning.

“Continuing low level moisture and a lingering surface ridge of high pressure is creating areas of dense fog. Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero. If travelling, be prepared for areas of near-zero visibility,” Environment Canada said.

The advisory also covers the following regions: West Columbia, West Kootenay, Highway 3 – Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass, Boundary, Arrow – Slocan Lakes, and Trans-Canada Highway – Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass.

There have been numerous delays in incoming and outgoing flights this morning at the Kelowna Airport.
